about

This song originally began while hanging out at my brothers house way back as we wrote a song together based upon a sonnet by William Shakespeare called Loves Perjuries. Since then the song has evolved and changed many times.

lyrics

On a day, alack the day
Love, whose month is ever May,
 Spied a blossom fair
 Play the wanton air;
 Through the velvet gloves
All unseen, and passage find;

That the lover, sick to death,
 Wish’d himself the heaven’s breath.
Air, quoth he, may blow;
would triumph so!
But, my hand is sworn
Ne’er to pluck thee from thy …………………

Love denying
Especially when I’m wrong
Hearts are crying

All comfort is gone
Al comfort is gone

Vow, alak for youth unmeet;
Youth so apt for heaven sweet.
Do not sin for me
Am forsworn for thee:
For whom love would swear
 Turning mortal for thy love.

Love denying
Especially when I’m wrong
Hearts are crying
All comfort is gone
Al comfort is gone

On a day, alack the day
Love, whose month is ever May,
